Savannah Resources steams ahead with flagship Mina do Barroso project
Metallurgical testwork highlights potential for lithium production
Metallurgical test work from the Mina do Barroso project in Portugal owned by Savannah Resources PLC (LON:SAV) continues to show that a conventional 6% Li₂O low-impurity concentrate can be produced with high recoveries. Savannah CEO David Archer tells Proactive London why this is significant as the company positions itself in the European market for the huge uptick in demand following moves by car manufacturing giants like BMW and VW to begin the production of millions more electric vehicles.
Meanwhile, drill core samples taken from the Grandao deposit have produced concentrates containing 6%-6.5% Li2O, with corresponding lithium recoveries in excess of 80%.
