Errris is after gold in Sweden and zinc in Ireland

Zinc and gold explorer Erris Resources plc (LON:ERIS)  has appointed Anton du Plessis as its new chief executive after the resignation of Merlin Marr-Johnson.

Du Plessis has twenty years experience of finance and transactions in the mining sector and has worked on deals for such as Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton at bulge bracket banks.

Jeremy Martin, Erris Resources’ chairman, thanked Marr-Johnson for helping to develop Erris while adding du Plessis had specialist knowledge, experience and a wealth of international industry contacts that would be invaluable.

Erris is exploring for zinc at Abbeytown in Ireland and gold at Brannberg in Sweden.
