St George Mining drills out nickel-copper sulphides

Drilling results continue to identify new mineralised zones.
The company has drill programs in progress at multiple projects

St George Mining (ASX:SGQ) has intersected further nickel-copper sulphides in its latest diamond hole at the Investigators Prospect at the Mt Alexander Project, Western Australia.

Drilling results continue to identify new mineralised zones at Investigators and provide valuable information for further drilling.

The drill rig has now mobilised to the Cathedrals East Prospect for the first ever drilling in the potential eastern extension of the Cathedrals Belt.

The drill target is a conductor associated with a prominent magnetic anomaly.

Both downhole electromagnetic (DHEM) and moving loop electromagnetic (MLEM) surveys are also in progress at the Mt Alexander Project.

John Prineas, chairman, commented:

“The drill results at Investigators continue to identify high grade mineralisation at this underexplored prospect.

“We expect strong follow-up drill targets once the down-hole electromagnetic surveys and geological modelling are completed.

“We are excited to be carrying out the first ever drilling at our 100% owned Cathedrals East Prospect.

“The discovery of mineralised ultramafics in this new area would be a major milestone for the Mt
Alexander Project.”

Mt Alexander

St George recently commenced a major drilling campaign at the Mt Alexander nickel sulphide project testing the Cathedrals prospect, the Stricklands prospect and the Investigators prospect.

Drill results from Mt Alexander during 2016 suggest it could be an emerging new nickel camp with potential for multiple deposits.

Multiple new discoveries in 2016 have established recurrent mineralisation over 3.5 kilometres of strike.

The program is testing new conductors and targets as well as targeting extensions to mineralised zones to establish a resource base.
